Terms of Service

ByteBack Arcade is a trading name and is not a registered limited company. It provides an online, browser-based retro-gaming service and community.

You must provide accurate registration details and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are personal to you and must not be shared or sold.

We may email you a verification link when you register. Some features require a verified email. You can create a free account, or subscribe to a paid plan for full access.

We offer three plans, in GBP: Free; Arcade (£2.99/month or £32.29/year); and Premium (£4.99/month or £50.90/year). Each plan's features are shown on the membership page. Free lets you explore the catalogue and play a curated selection of free games. Paid plans unlock the wider library and member features.

Prices are shown at checkout. We may change plans, features or prices in future; changes will not affect a period you have already paid for.

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Mollie. Paid access is only granted after Mollie confirms your payment. Subscriptions renew automatically — monthly plans each month, annual plans each year — until cancelled.

You can cancel at any time from your membership settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which your account returns to Free. Full detail, including refunds, is in our Refunds & Cancellation Policy.

ByteBack Arcade is digital content and a digital service supplied immediately. When you subscribe you are asked to expressly consent to us beginning to supply the service straight away and to acknowledge that, once supply begins, you lose the statutory 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right to the extent the law allows. Your other statutory rights are unaffected (see the Refunds & Cancellation Policy).

You agree not to misuse the service, including: attempting to access content your plan does not include; disrupting, reverse-engineering or overloading the service; uploading unlawful, harmful or infringing content; harassing other members; or using the community to spam or abuse others. Community participation is subject to moderation and house rules, and access can be restricted for breaches.

The available games, systems and features may change over time, and specific titles may be added or removed. Online multiplayer (netplay) is an experimental/beta feature and may not always be available or fully reliable. We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The ByteBack Arcade name, branding, site and software are owned by us or our licensors. These terms do not transfer any ownership to you. You receive a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service while your account is in good standing.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, is used unlawfully, or presents a security or payment risk. Where we close a paid account for a serious breach, we will handle any refund fairly and in line with your statutory rights.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss, and our total liability relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. As a consumer, you keep all your statutory rights.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
